This time in the demo I wanted to emphasize the important use of the rag in the painting process, erasing with a brush, the use of a large round brush for detail and how much water to use on your palette (a lot!).
Also, as an experiment, I mounted the finished painting on a wooden frame to try and find new ways of displaying watercolor drawings. PVA glue seems to be the consensus by all those I ask for which glue is best for paper/wood adhesion.
watch the video and let me know if you have any other questions:
For the soundtrack, I used one of my favorite songs from this past year "Start Shootin'" by
Little People. Check out their website, they have some free
music and cool videos and other good stuff!
Here are a few more winter trees I have spotted in the last month and drew using a little micron pen (sadly, couldn't bring them into my studio):

And in other news, I just had a show opening this past Thursday at the Umpqua Community College art gallery. They bought three of my watercolors, and I was so honored to have my work shown with so many other amazing artists from the Northwest! I don't know why I never posted the paintings that were exhibited (they are pretty recent), but in any case, they can be found on my website.
